Early morning drive by car to Aryankavu (125 Km) a nearby town of Rosemala. On the way have breakfast (Idli / Dosa & tea / coffee) at the KTDC Hotel at Thenmalla Eco Tourism Center and proceed to Rosemala (6 Km) by jeep. This road is through forest area. Arrive at Rosemala at 9 a.m.
Rosemala is a small village surrounded by Chenkurinji forest. Exploring the life style of the people on this village makes trekking both informative and thrilling. In Rosemala, we can see the spices plantations, village hotel and tea shops. One can have the view of the Thenmala Dam (also called the Parappar dam, which is used for irrigation purposes).
After refreshment at the local village tea stall (Plus bread & jam with fruits) i.e. mini lunch, trekking starts at 2 p.m through the semi evergreen forest. This beautiful trekking path is created by the Travancore King for horse ride. After two hours trekking we will come to the waterfall Palaruvi It is one of the major water falls in south Kerala.
After bath in waterfalls, we drive out (the vehicle will be ready for pick up near the waterfalls) to Punalur for dinner and overnight stay ( Hotel Kumar Palace, Punalur).
