Trek to “Valley of flowers” … Garhwal Himalaya - Uttaranchal

Day -01: (SAT - 15th Aug) – Delhi to Rishikesh (No Food)
Meet & greet at Delhi domestic airport. Departure from Delhi airport at 1300 hrs by a/c coach or mini van to Rishikesh (approx. 230kms –7 hrs ). Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Rishikesh. Hotel Great Ganga or similar.
Day- 02: (SUN - 16th Aug) – Rishikesh to Joshimath (B/F & Dinner)
Early breakfast and depart from Rishikesh at about 0730 hrs to Joshimath (approx. 240kms–12 hrs). Enroute photo stop at Devaprayag. Lunch stop at either Srinagar or Rudraprayag. Continue journey to Joshimath and arrive at about 1930 hrs. Dinner & overnight stay, either at the “Chardham - leisure tented camp” or at a hotel. Altitude - 1875mts.
Day- 03: (MON - 17th Aug) – Joshimath to Govindghat to (Kanjila) Ghangaria. (B/F, Lunch & Dinner)
Bed tea/coffee and depart from hotel at 0500 hrs, with a packed breakfast, by road to Govindghat (approx. 22kms). Govindghat is the point from where the trek to the “Valley of Flowers” begins. From Govindghat, we trek about 13 kms to reach our base camp at Kanjila. Packed lunch, en route. (Kanjila is about 1 km short of Ghangaria). Dinner and overnight stay at Kanjila base camp (3048 mts).
Day- 04: (TUE - 18th Aug) – (Kanjila) Ghangaria to Valley of flowers to Ghangaria. (B/F, Lunch & Dinner)
Breakfast at camp and today we trek (approx: 5 kms) to the Valley of Flowers (altitude approx. 3658 mts). Hot lunch served at the valley. Return to Ghangaria (approx: 5 kms) for the night. Overnight stay at Kanjila base camp (3048 mts).
Day- 05: (WED - 19th Aug) – (Kanjila) Ghangaria : Optional trek to Lake Hemkund. (B/F, Lunch & Dinner)
Breakfast at camp. Day at leisure to explore the Kanjila environs OR do yet another visit to the “Valley of flowers” OR opt for a guided trek (approx: 7 kms/5 hrs) to lake Hemkund (altitude approx: 4329 meters). Return for overnight stay at base camp at Kanjila (3048 mts).
Day- 06: (THU - 20th Aug) – Ghangaria to Govindghat to Rudraprayag. (B/F & Lunch only)
Breakfast at camp and trek back to Govindghat (approx 13 kms). Packed lunch en route. Transfer by road to Rudraprayag (approx 132kms/5 hrs). Overnight at Hotel Monal or Balbir Palace at Rudraprayag.
Day- 07: (FRI – 21st Aug) – Rudraprayag to Rishikesh. (B/F only)
Early breakfast and depart at 0700 hrs to Rishikesh ( Approx. 06hrs drive). Arrive at Rishkesh & check in at hotel for a late lunch. Explore Rishikesh in the evening.. Ram jula, Laxman jula. View the evening Aarti. Depart from Rishikesh at 2230 hrs. Overnight travel in the vehicle.
Day- 08: (SAT – 22nd Aug) – Rishikesh to Delhi. (No Food)
Early morning arrival at Delhi at 0430 hrs and drop at the Airport to further destination. Tour ends.
FIXED DEPARTURE SCHEDULES – In August 2009 (minimum group size 20 persons)
Tour One - 15th Aug from Delhi (7 nights & 8 days – Saturday to Saturday)
Tour Two - 29th Aug from Delhi (7 nights & 8 days – Saturday to Saturday)
Tour Cost: Rs. 18,888 per adult on twin share + Govt. of India Service tax
(Package cost is worked out with a group size of 20 Pax. Any variation in number will alter the cost of the package…)
Tour Cost includes:
- Accommodation as indicated in itinerary on twin share basis.
- Accommodation in tented camps with foam mattress and sleeping bags.
- Porterage for luggage from Govindghat-base camp at Kanjila-Govindghat.
- Porterage for luggage will be for a maximum of one 15kg piece/person.
- Meal Plan – Vegetarian – Buffet / Fixed menu / Packed meal.
- Daily breakfast from Day 2 till day 7.
- All meals while at Joshimath and base camp at Kanjila (Ghangaria).
- National park entrance fees, eco fees and camping charges.
- Services of a tour escort from Govind Ghat to Govind Ghat.
- Transport from Delhi to Govindghat to Delhi by non-A/c vehicle.
